DAYS ITINERARY
Karakoram K2 Trekking Pakistan Itinerary
Expand AllDay 1: Arrival at Islamabad
Upon arrival at Islamabad Airport, our staff, identifiable by the company card or logo, will transfer guests to a partner hotel near Margalla hills. Clients must provide flight details in advance, and late arrival payments and briefings will take place in Skardu.
Day 2: Fly to Skardu
In the morning, guests will fly to Skardu, the logistical hub for Karakoram range expeditions. Upon arrival, our staff will escort them to a partner hotel, allowing for rest and exploration of Skardu, with stunning views of Himalaya and Karakoram mountains during the flight.
Day 3: Free Day at Skardu
Skardu, surrounded by mountains along the Indus River, offers an acclimatization hike to Kharpocho and an old castle with breathtaking views. Guests can explore Skardu's bazaar, arrange for crampons, and our office staff will handle necessary paperwork, typically cleared within a day.
Day 4: Drive to Askoli
Embarking on a 5-7-hour jeep drive from Skardu, we'll reach Askoli Village, the final stop before the K2 Baltoro trek. The journey passes through Shigar Valley, featuring lush green fields, and continues along the Braldu River, with an overnight stay in a well-serviced camp.
Day 5: Trek to Mongron
The trek to K2 Base Camp begins, with a two-hour walk leading to Korofon camp at the junction of Biafo Glacier and Baltoro River. Continuing towards Mongron camp, guests can admire the notable Bakhordas peak, the first peak visible on the Baltoro K2 trek.
Day 6: Trek to Paju
The trek to Paju camp unfolds with awe-inspiring mountain vistas, offering a challenging yet rewarding journey through the stunning Karakoram landscape. The trail showcases the natural beauty of the region, making the trek a memorable experience for adventurers.
Day 7: Trek to Khoburse
Embarking on the 65km Baltoro Glacier, the trek unveils stunning views of Trango Towers, Uli Baiho, and Paju Peak. After a 4 to 5-hour trek, lunch at Liligo precedes reaching Khoburse camp, nestled along the right edge of Baltoro Glacier, offering a picturesque overnight stop.
Day 8: Trek to Urdukas
Following an early start and breakfast, the trek to Urdukas Camp on the rugged Baltoro Glacier offers breathtaking views of Granite spires including Trango, Uli Biaho, and Cathedrals. As the last camp before glacial camps on the Baktoro trek, it provides unparalleled scenery.
Day 9: Trek to Goro II
In the middle of Baltoro Glacier, participants trek amid rough moraines with Masherbrum on the right and Muztagh on the left. After a 3-4 hour trek, lunch at Goro 1 precedes another 3-4 hours to Goro 2, a windy and cold campsite offering mesmerizing views of surrounding peaks.
Day 10: Trek to Concordia
A remarkable day on the K2 Base Camp trek as participants traverse breathtaking scenery to reach Concordia, the "throne room of mountain gods." Surrounded by majestic peaks, including K2, the campsite is a rare and cold wilderness experience.
Day 11: Trek to K2 Base Camp
With a flexible schedule, trekkers can choose to explore K2 up close, visit Gilkey Memorial, hike to Broad Peak Base Camp, or simply revel in Concordia's 360-degree mountain views. The day unfolds with diverse options and a return to Concordia for overnight camping.
Day 12: Trek to Concordia
Participants trek back from K2 Base Camp to Concordia, retracing their steps through the breathtaking landscapes of the Karakoram Range. The route offers a familiar yet awe-inspiring perspective of the majestic peaks surrounding Concordia.
Day 13: Trek to Ali Camp
Ali Camp via upper Baltoro Glacier involves crossing Mitre peak and traversing Vigne Glacier. Recommended caution is advised due to small crevasses, with a 5 to 6-hour trek from Concordia.
Day 14: Cross Gondogoro Pass
On the crucial day of the Gondogoro la trek, participants must cross the pass before sunrise to mitigate rockfall risks. After an early start and roped assistance, the 3-5-hour ascent to Gondogoro la offers stunning panoramic views before a cautious descent to Khuspang Camp.
Day 15: Trek to Siacho
participants trek for an hour on the Gondogoro glacier to Dalchangpa, encountering Masherbrum. After lunch, the 5-6 hour trek resumes through the Gondogoro pasture, reaching Saicho Camp at Siacho with improved weather conditions for washing and showers.
Day 16: Trek to Hushe
We trek early in the morning and reach Hushe village for overnight stay.
Day 17: Drive to Skardu
We will conclude our trek as jeeps transport participants from Hushe back to Skardu city.
Day 18: Fly to Islamabad
The trek concludes with a flight back to Islamabad via PIA, bringing an end to the adventurous journey through the Karakoram Range. Participants return to the capital city with memories of the stunning landscapes and challenging trails.
Day 19: Free day at Islamabad
A leisure day in Islamabad allows participants to explore the city's attractions. Additionally, it serves as a contingency day for travel from Skardu by road in case of flight cancellations.
Day 20: Fly to Home Country
Early morning we will see you off at Islamabad International Airport.
