Fairy Meadows is a breathtaking lush green high altitude plateau in front of Nanga Parbat, in to the lap of Himalayan range in Pakistan. The name fairy meadows is a everlasting gift by the western tourist to the locals. At an altitude of 3300m, Fairy meadow’s unparalleled beauty make it one on the most spectacular mountain vistas in the world to visit once. You can have the iconic view of green valley and forest with the iconic contrast of Nanga Parbat in the background. Fairy meadows trek is also synonymous with Nanga Parbat base camp trek but fairy meadows is mostly used.
The are two ways to get to Fairy Meadows or Nanga Parbat base camp. Participants start their voyage from Islamabad and stop at Raikot Bride on the Karakorum Highways or they can fly from Islamabad to Gilgit and drive to Raikot Bridge that is one-hour drive from Gilgit city. The alpine pasture is located in Raikot valley of Diamer district of Gilgit Baltistan. At Riakot we have jeeps that takes us to the Tato village via 15 km jeep able track. From onward Tato we will start trekking to fairy meadows which is five km away from Tato village and will take three to four hours trekking. We have a beautiful panorama of mountains to stay and explore for next two days. Next day we will take small excursions including Beyal / Nanga Parbat Base Camp. Fairy meadows is worth visiting and there in not place parallel to Fairy Meadows. The trek is not so difficult an ordinary person can manage to hike till the grass land.
