Our Hindu Kush, Pamir, and Karakoram tour, a comprehensive journey that combines stunning mountain landscapes with rich cultural experiences. This epic expedition takes you from the historic city of Peshawar, the capital of the Pashtun region, through remote valleys, high mountain passes, and breathtaking scenery that few travelers ever witness.
The journey begins in Peshawar, a city steeped in history and culture, before heading north through Dir Valley into the Kalash Valley, home to the unique pagan Kalash tribe of the Hindu Kush. From there, the tour continues to Chitral Valley and across the famous Shandur Pass, the “Roof of the World,” into Ghizer Valley of Gilgit-Baltistan. Explore the scenic towns of Gilgit and the legendary Hunza Valley, followed by the remote Chapurson Valley in the Pamir Mountains, where pristine landscapes and traditional cultures remain untouched by time.
The adventure continues to Skardu Valley, the heart of the Karakoram Range, including a visit to Shigar Valley and the unique high-altitude desert, before returning to Islamabad, where the journey concludes.

Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival in Peshawar
Arrival in Peshawar; meet & greet at the airport.
Full-day sightseeing:
- Peshawar Museum (Gandhara Buddhist treasures)
- Sethi House Museum (19th-century merchant architecture)
- Qissa Khwani Bazaar and Mahabat Khan Mosque
Day 2 – Peshawar → Rumbur Valley
- Scenic drive to the Kalash Valleys via Dir and Lowari Tunnel.
- Evening walk in Rumbur village.
Note: The drive is 8–9 hours nonstop.
Day 3 – Rumbur Valley (Explore Kalash Culture)
- Visit Kalasha Museum, local graveyards, and traditional homes.
- Interact with locals to learn about Kalasha religion and traditions.
- Optional short hike to nearby pastures for panoramic views of Rumbur and Bumburet Valleys.
Day 4 – Rumbur → Chitral Town
- Morning visit to Bumburet Valley, then drive to Chitral.
- Explore Chitral Fort, Shahi Mosque, and riverside walks.
Day 5 – Chitral → Harchin (Upper Chitral)
- Scenic drive to Mastuj and Harchin with views of Tirich Mir and Booni Zom.
- Cultural walk through local villages to experience traditional life.
- Mastuj is a recommended stop for photography and local interaction.
Day 6 – Harchin → Phander Valley
- Cross Shandur Pass (weather permitting) and visit the Shandur Polo Ground.
- Continue to Phander Lake and enjoy dinner by the lake.
- Camping is an option, though rooms are basic.
Note: Shandoor Pass is closed from November to April.
Day 7 – Phander → Gilgit
- Drive along the Ghizer River with stops at Khalti Lake and Gupis Valley.
- Arrive in Gilgit; visit Kargah Buddha and explore the local bazaar.
Day 8 – Gilgit → Hunza
Drive along the Karakoram Highway with stops at:
- Rakaposhi View Point
- Altit & Baltit Forts
- Optional sunset view from Duikar
- Old Silk Route and Ganish village
Day 9 – Hunza → Chapursan Valley
- Drive into the remote Chapursan Valley and visit Zood Khun village.
- Explore Wakhi culture and admire Afghan border peaks.
- Lunch at Dario’s Guesthouse.
Day 10 – Baba Ghundi Ziarat (Chapursan Day Trip)
- Visit the mystical Baba Ghundi Shrine.
- Walk through scenic meadows with views of Yazghil Glacier and Irshad Pass.
Day 11 – Chapursan → Hunza (via Passu Glacier & Hussaini Bridge)
- Drive back from Chapursan to Hunza.
- Stop at Passu Glacier and enjoy views of the surrounding peaks.
- Visit the famous Hussaini Suspension Bridge.
- Optional exploration of Passu village and photography stops along the Karakoram Highway.
Day 12 – Hunza → Skardu
- A 8-10 hours drive to Skardu via scenic routes and enjoy mountain landscapes en route along the Indus river.

- Junction of three mountain ranges ( Karakorum, Himalayas and Hindukush).
Day 13 – Skardu Exploration
- Explore the highlights of Skardu Valley, including the historic Kharpocho Fort overlooking the Indus River.
- Visit the serene Upper Kachura Lake, surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery.
- Experience the unique Cold Desert and explore the natural and cultural surroundings of Skardu.
Day 14 – Skardu → Islamabad
- Fly to Islamabad a 45 minutes flight above the Himalayas with views of Himalayan peak and Nanga Parbat.
- Or a Full-day drive via Babusar Pass or Besham.

Day 15 – Departure from Islamabad
If the trip operates one day earlier, we will include a short exploration of Islamabad. In case of a road journey via Naran or Besham, upon arrival in Islamabad around 4:00 pm, we will visit the Faisal Mosque before transferring to Islamabad International Airport for onward flights.
We recommend booking international departures after midnight to allow sufficient buffer time.
